2009's fundraiser kicked off Campaign 2012 in grand fashion. Please continue below to get a recap:
On February 21st, The High Performance Team kicked off Campaign 2012, a four-year effort to generate support and secure the resources necessary to send our athletes to the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England, with Attention, Ready, Row! The evening Fundraiser featured delicious food prepared by head coach Bryan Volpenhein and several special guests including US Rowing Men's Head Coach Tim McLaren who spoke on the state of rowing in the US and the importance of club rowing. We graciously thank the over 140 attendees who helped raise over $30,000. Photos of the event can be found via this link or in the following slideshow:
New head coach, Bryan Volpenhein continues the legacy of Emil Kossev and guides the team into the next phase. He is a three-time Olympian, winning gold and bronze medals in 2004 and 2008, and brings twelve years of National Team experience as well as the competitive and technical expertise to move the program forward.
We need your help! This is a long and difficult journey for the athletes. They will have tough choices and sacrifices to make along the way, thousands of hours on the water and in the gym on top of time spent working in order to fund their Olympic dreams. Campaign 2012 is our journey to support them along the way and it starts now! ‘Attention, Ready, Row!’ was the first step of that journey.
*Each individual's donations over the course of the campaign, which will end at the Olympic Games in 2012, will be cumulative.
