Thank you!! The HP Salsa Night was a huge success!

We were able to raise over $26,000 to ensure the Olympic dream stays alive at Pocock.

The HP event was a huge success, with over 80 people dancing the night away and well over 100 people donating to the HP program this month. The Pocock Community is a vital part of the HP program and your support this year has been incredible. The athletes are going to need your continued support as they prepare to race at the upcoming national selection regattas in Chula Vista, CA. Austin Nichols and Pat Sullivan will be racing in the M1x at NSR1 March 15-17. Lindsey Hochman, Katherine Robinson and Lizzy Bates will be racing in the LW2x April 10-12. PRC High Performance Team

About the Pocock Rowing Center High Performance Team

Pocock Rowing Center’s High Performance Team is the Northwest’s premier training center for elite level athletes. Established in 1996 by the late Emil Kossev, the HP Team has placed over 30 athletes on the US National Team, including 8 Olympians. It was Emil's vision, passion and drive to be innovative that set Pocock apart.

Seattle offers an idyllic training environment and Pocock offers access to the open waters of Lake Washington to the east and Lake Union to the southeast provide athletes with miles and miles of rowable water year-round. Pocock Rowing Center provides excellent facilities, and experienced coaches provide a scientifically based training program and high quality technical coaching. PRC is a leader in the use of cutting edge technology - systematically applying technology utilized internationally by the world’s best coaches and athletes. Further, the program has a wide variety of Seattle-based providers for everything from physical therapy to massage to VO2 testing.

Running a program of this caliber takes the financial and volunteer support of individual members of the Northwest rowing community. The George Pocock Rowing Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, provides oversight and governance of the program, and a committed and generous group of donors and volunteers. We need your support! All donations will go directly to supporting the athletes, whether it is for travel, equipment, or physiological testing, all your support will influence them tremendously.

Steve Dani - Head Coach

Steve Dani

The Pocock Rowing Center High Performance Team is coached by Steve Dani. A graduate of Boston College, Coach Dani has coached the PRC Women to a number of medals at the National Championships, coaching the Women's 8+ to a championship in 2006. Steve has been working with Pocock HP athletes for almost ten years, serving as an assistant coach under Emil Kossev, Julie McCleery and Bryan Volpenhein until he was named head coach in 2010. Steve's coaching places a strong emphasis on rowing efficiently; developing sound technical skills in small boats while building the physiological base needed to compete internationally. Steve was also named a US Rowing senior national team coach in 2009 and 2011 for the Lightweight Women's 4x- at the World Championships. Both of those crews won bronze medals.

Briana Schulte - Assistant Coach

Briana Schulte

Briana Schulte joined the HP coaching staff this year and assists with all aspects of the program. Briana brings a tremendous background to the HP program, as a former PRC HP athlete and as a coach at the collegiate level for the last 6 years. As a coach, Schulte spent three years at Purdue University as a graduate assistant coach responsible primarily for the recruitment and training of that club program's novice squad. During her time with the Boilermakers Schulte led boats to victories at the 2006 and 2007 Dad Vails, as well as at three straight Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships. Immediately prior to her arrival at PRC Briana worked with the University of Pennsylvania Women's team where she was primarily responsible for the program's 4+'s.
