ERGOMANIA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Want to knock out some of your 2012 volunteer hours early next month? The Ergomania! planning team is looking for people to help with erg assembly and venue setup on Friday night, February 3 from approximately 6-9ish pm at Lakeside School in north Seattle. The ergs arrive from Concept2 mostly assembled -- we just have to put the big pieces together and get them set up for the event on Saturday. All tools are included and assembling ergs is way easier than assembling IKEA furniture.

Interested? Have questions? Contact Alex O'Reilly (click here)!

We also need some help with the aftermath of selling 65 ergs! There is approximately 4+ CUFT of Styrofoam inside each C2 carton, which equals an enormous pile of Styrofoam. We’ll need at least two (maybe three) pick-up equivalents to take it to Renton. Each truck needs rope and tarp(s) to cover and contain its load. Two drivers to drive said trucks to Renton (with a stop at Magnusson) at some point during the Ergomania! event would complete the request. We'll be unpacking the machines at Lakeside on Friday night, and the packaging materials need to be gone from Lakeside before the end of the event.
Thank you!

prc window shower

The shower is done and the windows are underway!

Thank you for your patience during our work on the men’s shower! The work is completed and the shower looks great. Thanks go out to Andrey Murza and his team for doing a great job!
The new windows are starting to arrive, and will continue to arrive over the course of the next 2 weeks. As planned, the folks from Pella are putting in one window at a time. While they look remarkably similar to our old windows, please know these new windows are much more robust, energy efficient, and will be functional for years to come.

The Pella group will be in the Zesbaugh room next week and will put up some temporary ‘walls’ to protect the area they’re working on. Please avoid these areas, but feel free to continue using the Zesbaugh room for all of your fitness needs! The bulk of the room should be untouched, but there will be a compression of the equipment on the eastern edge of the room (leg press & bench pulls). Thank you for your patience!

Pocock High Performance

High Performance Event March 3!

The Pocock High Performance Team is hard at work on the water and in the Center. Many of our athletes have their eyes set on the first step towards the London Olympic games - the National Selection regattas to be held in Chula Vista, CA in March and April. These races are the first phase in forming the 2012 Olympic and Worlds' teams. Training on the west coast is a definite leg up when these races are so early in the spring, and training at Pocock also gives our HPs an advantage. The athletes are putting in the work, but we are hoping that every member can feel a part of this program and support our athletes as they aspire to represent the PRC and hopefully the USA.

March 3 - Salsa Dancing, Sangria & Latin Food! Before the athletes leave for Olympic selection they invite Pocock members and friends to join them for a fun evening of drinks and dancing. This is a fundraising event, but also a time to celebrate our high performance athletes and wish them well in their upcoming races. The event will be on the evening of March 3rd and will have a Salsa dance theme to it. We’ll have instructors on hand to get some basic Salsa moves down, and then dance the night away! Invitations will be out very soon, so keep an eye out! Shake the winter out of your bones, and keep the Olympic dream alive in Seattle!
Check out the updated athlete profiles on our HP roster page!
